SUMMARY  

The Grants Manager is a member of the accounting team and is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant reports that support agency goals and meet funder guidelines and criteria. This person manages funder relationships, engages in compliance reporting, and supports special project initiatives. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, project management skills, with an emphasis on outcome measurement.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DMHSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements.

Oversee grant implementation, keeping accurate records of grants awarded and working closely with the program directs and the Finance team to maintain accurate financial records for grants.

Responsible for assisting with grant assessments or audit procedures including working directly with audit teams.

Track the status of grant applications, timely submission of grant documents, accurate reporting and submission of documents to funding entities, and close overall grant management to ensure that all grant requirements are followed and met.

Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and statements, substantiating business transactions.

Verifies and codes details of business transactions, such as department number, account and sub-account numbers, and voucher totals.

Assists in recordkeeping for client based activities (i.e. money management, client assistance funds, program activity funds, etc.).

Maintains records for client fund account ensuring all required documentation is complete and available.

Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.

Codes and enters vouchers, reports, and other records.

Prepares checks to pay outstanding accounts payable and obtains appropriate authorization and signatures.

Compiles and sorts data to prepare reports such as client fund balances, flex fund balances.

May assist in bank statement reconciliations and preparing/ delivering bank deposits.

Maintains general agency petty cash fund.

Assists in purchasing items for the agency as appropriate per agency policies and procedures.

May assist in training other accounting clerks, as assigned.

May perform duties of other accounting clerks or support staff, as assigned.

Supports and promotes a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives. Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.

Travel may be required.

Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will be made in accordance with agency policy and procedures.

Performs other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA/BS in Accounting/Business or four years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience substituting completion of related business school, technical school or college training to the requirements for related work experience
