Hope Ministries has been serving men, women and children in need in Central Iowa since 1915. Our mission is to rescue those who are homeless, hungry, abused or addicted, providing opportunities for hope, recovery and restoration through the love of Jesus Christ. 

Whether their need is for one warm meal, a safe place to sleep or a year or more of life recovery support, we strive to help individuals and families take their next steps toward healing and wholeness. We have a passion for restoring broken lives and helping people find long-lasting hope. 

We operate the following ministry centers in Des Moines:

-Bethel Mission, shelter for men
-Door of Faith, life recovery center for men
-Hope Center for Women and Children, short-term shelter and long-term life recovery center for single women and moms with kids
-Hope Cafe, providing free breakfast, lunch and dinner daily to residents and the community at-large
-Hope Ministries Thrift, providing low-cost clothing, furniture, household goods and more at two locations
-Hope Ministries Drop-in Center, offering in-the-moment assistance with job and housing applications, access to community resources, and more
-Administrative Offices in Pleasant Hill, housing our business, administration and development teams

The Finance and Development team at Hope Ministries is responsible for overseeing the financial health and sustainability of the organization, as well as driving initiatives for resource acquisition and expansion. This includes managing budgets, financial planning, and reporting, alongside developing strategic partnerships and fundraising efforts to support the ministry's mission. The team also collaborates on real estate development projects to expand and enhance the ministry centers' facilities.
