Steve Matteson has extensive experience in leadership and community service, currently serving as the Director of Ministry Partnerships at Hope Ministries since July 2017, where the organization focuses on providing transitional housing for individuals experiencing homelessness in a supportive environment. Prior to this role, Steve Matteson held the position of Assistant Vice President for Advancement at Bethel College from October 1988 to July 2017. Education was obtained at Bethel College from 1977 to 1981.

Hope Ministries, formerly Hope Rescue Mission, has been serving men, women and children in St. Joseph County since 1954. Primarily operating out of the Family Life Center (432 S. Lafayette Blvd), Hope Ministries seeks to transform hearts, minds and lives by engaging families and individuals in a Christ-centered, grace-based process of examining their current realities, envisioning their future possibilities, and enabling action to achieve their desired futures. Hope Ministries offers free transitional housing, free meals, addictions recovery programs, adult education, the Hope4Kids early childhood development and parenting program, access to mental and physical health care, spiritual development and guidance for life skills.
