Joe Whitson has extensive work experience in various roles within the healthcare and athletic industries.

Joe most recently served as the Senior Director of Professional and Facility Services at Hopedale Medical Complex, starting in July 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Medical Practice Manager at the same company, starting in August 2020.

Before joining Hopedale Medical Complex, Joe worked at Bradley University from February 2016 to August 2020 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director.

From May 2005 to February 2016, Joe held the position of Associate Athletic Trainer at Illinois State University.

Prior to that, they worked as an Athletic Trainer at Carson-Newman University from January 2002 to May 2005.

Throughout their career, Joe has gained valuable experience in management, healthcare, and athletics.

Joe Whitson completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Athletic Training/Trainer at East Tennessee State University from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Education (MS. Ed.) with a focus on Health promotion at Virginia Tech from 2001 to 2002. In addition, Joe Whitson obtained their certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) from the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer in June 2001.
