Hopelink
April Berg is an experienced public servant and community leader currently serving as the Chair of the House Finance Committee in the Washington State House of Representatives, representing the 44th Legislative District since January 2021. Berg is also a member of the Appropriations and Local Government Committees. Additionally, Berg holds board positions with Hopelink and the Economic Opportunity Institute, focusing on poverty elimination and economic equity. Previous roles include serving as a Director on the Everett School Board and the Edmonds School Board, where Berg managed significant budgets and policy oversight. Other contributions include participation in various community organizations and committees, including as a former president of the Seattle Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. April Berg earned a BA in History from Oregon State University.

Hopelink
Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in King and Snohomish counties; providing stability and helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.Hopelink provides a network of critical social services through a number of different programs –including housing, transportation, family development, financial assistance, employment programs, adult education, financial literacy training and five food banks. The agency’s service centers, housing and transportation programs help more than 60,000 people every year.
