Erica Makowski, LSW, currently serves as the Managing Director of Adult and Family Services at HopePHL, focusing on operations and service delivery while ensuring contract outcomes and strategic goals are achieved. Erica has extensive experience in social work, having previously worked as the Director of Family-Based Services at Youth Service, Inc., where oversight of multiple contracts and workforce management was a key responsibility. Erica holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma.

HopePHL (pronounced Hopeful) is a newly formed social service organization for families, youth, and young children, experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Philadelphia. HopePHL was formed from two separate, but well known, social service organizations, People’s Emergency Center (PEC), and Youth Service, Inc (YSI), with 150 years of combined service experience.
