Julie Segovia

Julie joined the HopeWell Board in 2018 and is currently a doctoral student and research assistant in Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University. As a former foster child, Julie has a strong interest in the child welfare system. Her research interests include the social, emotional, and academic development of children growing up in foster care, inclusion of children’s home context and cultural communities in early childhood education, and educational, employment, and health trajectories of youth ageing-out of the foster care system. Julie is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston and also has her Master of Science degree in speech and language pathology.
