Catherine N. has been actively involved in various programs and organizations such as Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Horatio Alger Association, Elevation Financial Group, INROADS, National Junior Honor Society, TodayIWant2Be, University of Central Florida, Edgewater High School, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Catherine is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Columbia University and has shown dedication and leadership through their involvement in different roles, including treasurer of Edgewater High School Chorus and as a weightlifting participant. Founded in 1947, the Horatio Alger Association fulfills its mission of honoring the achievements of outstanding individuals who have succeeded in spite of adversity and of encouraging young people to pursue their dreams through higher education. The Horatio Alger Association supports students through annual undergraduate and graduate need-based scholarships and mentoring programs across the United States and Canada. Since 1984, the Association has awarded more than $125 million in college scholarships to 25,000 deserving young people.
