Om Khurjekar is a Principal of Hord Coplan Macht, with over 22 years of experience in designing public parks and plazas, interpretive play environments, park structures, college and university campuses and educational landscapes, hospitality and entertainment projects, and urban streetscapes.
Om believes that landscape and architecture are inseparable and strives to create and maintain a seamless connection. His passion towards design, attention to detail and candid nature is appreciated by his clients and colleagues. His work has won numerous awards and has been recognized by Maryland and Potomac chapters of the ASLA, Preservation Pennsylvania, the Maryland Recreation and Parks Authority and LUXE interior design magazine.
Before coming to United States for graduate education, Om worked as an Architect in Pune, India, focussing on residential and institutional projects.
Om is actively involved in the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). He served as President of the Maryland Chapter of ASLA, President of the Chapter President’s Council of ASLA and is currently the public awareness representative for MDASLA. He serves on various ASLA national advisory committees and award juries for ASLA chapter award programs. He has lectured at Morgan State University and serves as a design critic at both Morgan State University and University of Maryland College Park.
