Horizons National
Ian Golden is an experienced educator currently serving as a Teacher in Language Arts and Read 180/System 44 at Norwalk Public Schools since August 2017. Prior roles include working as an English Teaching Assistant for Horizons National, a Long-Term Substitute Teacher, and a Student Teacher at Norwalk Public Schools, where Ian was involved in various educational activities including lesson preparation, classroom management, and collaboration with other educators. Ian also has experience in facilitating English Language Arts classes for disadvantaged children and has held multiple positions related to education and youth development since 2010, including roles in sports and archery instruction at Greenwood Trails. Ian holds a Master of Arts in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Sacred Heart University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Horizons National is a nonprofit that partners with public, independent, and charter schools, colleges, and universities to create out-of-school academic, enrichment, and social-emotional learning programs for students from pre-kindergarten through high school. Our mission is to advance educational equity by building long-term partnerships with students, families, communities, and schools to create experiences outside of school that inspire the joy of learning.
