Phil Western

Phil Western currently serves as the Senior Manager of Emerging Energy Technologies at Horizon Power, a position held since November 2008. In this role, Phil is responsible for leading the strategy and execution of the integration of new operational technologies essential for energy transition, including advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), distributed energy resources (DER), and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. Prior to this, Phil held various roles at Horizon Power, including Manager of Operational Technology, where strategic leadership of the operational technology function was provided, and Project Manager of Operational Technology, focusing on significant improvements to SCADA systems. Phil's earlier positions also included SCADA Manager and SCADA Communications Officer, demonstrating a consistent focus on optimizing communication systems and operational performance. Before joining Horizon Power, Phil worked as a Communications/Electronics Technician at Esperance Communications from 1999 to 2008.
