Heidi Akkerman

Heidi Akkerman is a Corporate Innovation Manager at Hormel Foods, where responsibilities include project management, portfolio management, and implementing an enterprise standard process since June 2014. Previously, Heidi served as an Industrial Engineer, focusing on labor work standards and production labor costs. Prior experience includes a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and various engineering roles at 3M, where projects emphasized safety, process efficiency, and strategic leadership in Lean implementation. Heidi began professional development as a Co-Op Student at Cargill. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
