Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU)
Michael Beissenherz has a wide range of experience in various roles within the sports industry. Michael currently serves as the Director of Testing at the Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU), and previously held positions such as Director of Professional Sports at Drug Free Sport, LLC. Michael has also worked as a Collegiate Scout at NCSA Athletic Recruiting, an Academic Tutor at the University of Missouri, and a Group Tickets Intern at the Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Club. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU)
The Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU), a division of Drug Free Sport International, was created to serve as the independent enforcement agency of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority's (HISA) Anti-Doping and Medication Control program. The HIWU will establish a comprehensive and robust program that includes uniform testing protocols, adjudication processes and enforcement mechanisms to increase accountability and enhance the integrity of the competition for participants, fans and bettors.
