Wally Fairchild currently serves as the Senior Director of Testing Operations at the Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU) since September 2022, where responsibilities include overseeing testing protocols and operations within the organization. Prior to this role, Wally Fairchild worked at Texas Mutual Insurance Company from December 2012 to September 2022, where the position of Medical Claims Supervisor involved managing claims and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Additionally, Wally Fairchild held the title of East Regional Relations Director at Texas Mutual Insurance Company, contributing to regional engagement and operations.
Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU)
The Horseracing Integrity & Welfare Unit (HIWU), a division of Drug Free Sport International, was created to serve as the independent enforcement agency of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority's (HISA) Anti-Doping and Medication Control program. The HIWU will establish a comprehensive and robust program that includes uniform testing protocols, adjudication processes and enforcement mechanisms to increase accountability and enhance the integrity of the competition for participants, fans and bettors.
