Lora Parisien has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Lora began their career as a Peace Corps Volunteer, serving as a Professor of English in Tunisia and also coordinating the English Department. Lora then worked with the Peace Corps and World Wildlife Fund, where they coordinated the development of an eco-tourism project, assisted in community mapping, and implemented a women's literacy program.
Following their time with the Peace Corps, Lora joined the Michigan Department of Natural Resources as a Communications Manager, where they coordinated media and communications for the implementation of the Clean Michigan Initiative. Lora then transitioned to a role at General Motors, where they designed and conducted cross-cultural training programs for multinational corporations and secured national and international contracts.
Lora later worked as a Product Specialist for Utechniques Inc, focusing on General Motors, Hyundai, and Subaru vehicles. Lora completed several national and international product launch training tours. Lora also served as the Director of Development for Parjana®, a division of Parjana Distribution, where they helped secure grants for sustainable water technology deployment to areas in need.
As a freelance self-employed professional, Lora worked as a Communications & Training Specialist, partnering with top-level managers to solve complex issues and implement marketing and communications goals. Lora executed national media, marketing, and advertising campaigns and created original written and visual content for social media, traditional media, and special events.
Lora currently works at Hospice of Michigan as the Manager of Marketing and Communications. In this role, they manage internal and external communications, promotions, advertising, website development, and public and media relations. Lora is also the organization's official photographer.
Throughout their career, Lora has demonstrated a strong ability to strategize and execute effective communications and marketing campaigns, work with diverse stakeholders, and drive measurable results.
Lora Parisien's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism and English from Central Michigan University. Lora also studied Arabic at the Institut Bourguiba des Langues Vivantes. Lora Parisien has additional certifications as a Certified Cross-Cultural Trainer from IOR Global Services, a Certified Diversity Trainer from GP Strategies Corporation, and they are a Certified Yoga Instructor with two certifications from the Jonny Kest Center for Yoga-Michigan.
