Dr Gavin (Gav) Eyres is a Senior Manager in the NHS. He joined the Hospice Board in 2018 and currently sits on the Care Committee.
For the past decade he has worked in national NHS organisations, directing organisational change programmes and leading programmes to improve patient care and experience. Gav is currently National Programme Lead for Infection Prevention & Control for NHS England.
Gav is passionate about end of life care. He has worked for the National Council for Palliative Care (now Hospice UK) working with Hospices across England to develop compassionate communities. He also led a national NHS pilot to improve end of life care in accident and emergency (A&E).
Born at the Countess of Chester, and growing up in Hawarden, Gav is committed to improving health care and end of life care services in the local community. Gav is an advocate for equality and diversity, and was the inaugural co-chair of the NHS LGBTQ+ Staff Network. He is a Freedom To Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian for NHS staff in England.
Gav lives in Hoole with his husband Pete (a local GP) and their very spoilt cocker spaniel Frankie.
