Mike Yamakawa

Mike Yamakawa, M.D., is currently an Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a position held since July 2024. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Anesthesiology Resident and Anesthesiology Resident at Weill Cornell Medicine since July 2020, along with simultaneous residency roles at Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Mike Yamakawa received the Ronald A. Leff Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching by a Resident. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Illinois College of Medicine (2016-2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University (2011-2014), along with attendance at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (2007-2010). Prior to medical training, Mike Yamakawa worked as a Consultant at Asklepion Pharmaceuticals LLC from July 2014 to April 2016.
