Lukas Polok is a Research Engineer at Apple since August 2017, with extensive experience in academia and research. Prior to joining Apple, Lukas served as a Research Assistant at Brno University of Technology from August 2009 to August 2017, focusing on teaching image processing, computer vision, user interfaces, algorithm acceleration, and parallel computing on GPU platforms. Lukas also held various roles in national and European research projects, including Principal Investigator for projects funded by the Czech Ministry of Education and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, and Local Coordinator for the European FP project IMPART. Additionally, Lukas was a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University in 2015. Lukas holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Brno University of Technology, earned between 2009 and 2017, and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the same institution, completed in 2008.
