Håvar Bauck has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Håvar is the Founder of HotelOnline, which is a leading revenue partner for the hospitality industry in Africa. Håvar digitized marketing, distribution, and operations for over 5000 hotels in 27 African countries, resulting in increased occupancy and revenue. Bauck also served as the Chairman of Cloud9, which was acquired by HotelOnline in 2020 and became the B2C face of Africa's leading traveltech group. The company provided a seamlessly integrated digital travel experience across Africa. Prior to that, Bauck was the Founder and Partner of Nairobi Airport Hotel, the pioneer of the first budget airport aparthotel in Nairobi. Håvar also co-founded Savanna Sunrise, a pioneer in digital hotel marketing in Africa, which later merged and rebranded as HotelOnline. Before entering the hospitality industry, Bauck worked in the mobile technology sector. Håvar was an Account Director at Upstream, where they sold, launched, and managed major joint projects with mobile operator partners. Håvar built strong C-level relationships with Airtel and Vodacom in several African countries. Bauck also served as the Sales Director at Kyoto Energy Ltd., a social entrepreneurship project that provided affordable solar energy products in African markets. Håvar won the Financial Times Climate Change Challenge in 2009 and gained international media recognition. In addition, Bauck worked as the VP Sales - Africa at Vyke Communications plc, where they were in charge of sales and distribution for mobile voice-over-IP services in various African markets. Håvar successfully built distribution channels in several African countries. Prior to that, Bauck was a Sales Executive at IPdrum AS, a startup focused on mobile voice-over-IP solutions, and at Venezu AS, where they sold mobile telephony solutions to corporate clients in Norway. Håvar also has experience as a Managing Consultant at Biashara Consulting Ltd., providing consulting services to clients such as Medsafe ASA, where they delivered a multi-country market analysis and identified potential manufacturing partners in Africa.
