Varuna Shibad

Varuna Shibad is a scientist currently employed at HotSpot Therapeutics, Inc. since February 2023, with previous experience as an associate scientist at Rubius Therapeutics from February 2021 to November 2022, focusing on immunology. Varuna has a robust research background, including a significant tenure at Boston Medical Center from January 2011 to February 2021, where Varuna managed and contributed to various projects, such as investigating the anti-tumor effects of IgM antibodies in melanoma models and coordinating clinical research in adipose metabolism. Earlier roles included developing high throughput screening assays and performing biochemical analyses at the Center for Drug Discovery and Evolvus. Varuna holds a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Sinhgad College of Pharmacy, University of Pune.
