Paul Bernard

Paul Bernard is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in engineering and architecture. Currently serving as Senior Vice President Engineering and Chief Architect at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt since January 2018, Paul previously held the role of Vice President for Architecture, Research AI, Algorithms, and Data Analytics at Fidelity Investments from January 2015 to December 2017. Paul’s long tenure at Fidelity Management and Research from January 1992 to January 2015 included leadership positions as Director of Architecture, overseeing fixed income trading systems and in-memory data grids, as well as Director of Development for Fidelity.com, where Paul managed various system infrastructures. Paul began a career in the financial sector as a Securities Research/Broker at Josephthal Lion & Ross in 1991. Paul holds a degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
