Alison Sawers is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in project finance, commercial transactions, and banking law. Currently serving as General Counsel, Commercial at Housing Australia since January 2022, Alison has held various roles within the organization, including Principal Counsel, Transactions, and Deputy General Counsel, Commercial. Prior to Housing Australia, Alison worked as Director at the Infrastructure and Project Financing Agency and as Senior Associate at Ashurst, specializing in project financing across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Housing Australia is the independent national housing authority. We work with the private sector, community housing providers and all levels of government to facilitate and deliver programs that help more Australians to access social and affordable housing or to buy a home. The organisation was established in 2018 as the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) and became Housing Australia in October 2023.
