Paul Carter has over 35 years of work experience in various health and safety roles. Paul is currently the Group Head of Health & Safety at Housing Plus, where they direct the Safety Management System and manages corporate risks. Prior to that, they worked as the Group Health & Safety Manager at Housing Plus Group and as a Health & Safety Advisor at Birmingham International Airport. Paul also has a background in the Royal Air Force, where they served as a Training & Resource Manager, Basic Engineering Technical Instructor, Aircraft Engineering Supervisor, and Aircraft Engineering Technician. Paul is a professionally qualified health and safety expert with certifications including CMIOSH, DipNEBOSH, and CERT ED.
Paul Carter has a diverse education history. In 1994 and 1995, they attended Stafford College and studied the Institute of Quality Assurance Quality Assurance Management and Specifications, Standards & Quality Audit. In 1995 and 1996, they returned to Stafford College to earn their NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health. In 2002, Paul attended the Royal Air Force Halton and completed the Basic Instructional Technique Course. In 2004 and 2005, they studied at the University of Wolverhampton, where they obtained a Certificate in Education (CERT ED) in Post Compulsory Education. Paul then pursued a NEBOSH National Diploma Level 6 diploma in Occupational Health & Safety at Stafford College from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, they enhanced their knowledge further by achieving a CIEH Environmental Management Certificate from Telford College of Arts and Technology. The same year, they completed the NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety & Health from Woodward Group. Moving forward, in 2010, Paul attended Stanhope House and obtained a Certificate in APS in "Management of CDM." In 2011, they enrolled in Pheonix Health & Safety and completed the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire and Risk Management. Paul continued their education in 2014 at BSI Training Academy and earned a Certificate in Internal Auditor BS OHSAS 18001. Most recently, in 2021 and 2022, Paul attended Castle Group, where they obtained qualifications as a Competent Person in Noise at Work and Hand Arm Vibration & Whole Body Vibration.
