Colin Shearer

Colin Shearer has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of analytics and business development. Colin is currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Houston Analytics Ltd since 2017. Prior to this, they worked as the AI Lead at OPEX - Operational Excellence (OPEX) Group, where they focused on leveraging AI and analytics technologies to deliver maximum value to upstream operators in the oil and gas industry.

Colin also has experience as the Chief Business Development Officer at Agillic A/S from 2018 to 2019. In this role, they played a key role in driving business development strategies.

Before joining Agillic A/S, Colin spent a significant part of their career at IBM. Colin held the position of Global Executive, Advanced Analytic Solutions from 2010 to 2016. During their tenure, they were involved in the integration of SPSS's predictive analytics business into IBM and led the development of industry-specific offerings utilizing predictive analytics. Additionally, they created and launched IBM's first cloud-hosted advanced analytics services.

Prior to IBM, Colin worked at SPSS as the Senior Vice President, Strategic Analytics from 1998 to 2010. In this role, they drove the development of SPSS's data mining business and successfully transitioned the company from statistics to predictive analytics. Colin'scontributions include introducing the first enterprise-level analytics technology platform with rich automation and deployment capabilities.

Colin has also co-founded INTEGRAL SOLUTIONS LIMITED, where they served as a Director and played a significant role in designing and developing Clementine, the first visual workbench tool for data mining and predictive analytics. Colin also contributed to the creation of the CRISP-DM methodology, which became the de facto standard for advanced analytics. Furthermore, they were responsible for expanding ISL's data mining business into Asia and the US.
