Med Camala Hedenschau

Camala Hedenschau, MEd, SHRM-CP has extensive work experience in various roles within the human resources field as well as in education. Camala is currently serving as the Human Resources Director at the Houston Area Women's Center. Prior to this, they held the same position at the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston from July 2020 to June 2022, and also worked as a Senior Human Resources Generalist and HR Generalist at the same organization.

Before transitioning to a career in HR, Camala worked as an Educator at Lanier Middle School from January 2015 to June 2018. During their time there, they developed and implemented engaging learning experiences and facilitated professional development sessions for teachers. Camala also took on leadership roles as a Cluster Leader and Department Chair, where they managed staff members and organized various programs and events.

Camala's earlier work experience includes roles at Target and Speedway LLC. At Target, they worked as a Human Resources Team Lead, Manager, and Team Leader, overseeing projects, serving as a liaison between management and personnel, and providing conflict resolution support. Camala also worked as a Perishables Team Leader and Logistics Specialist, where they managed employees, developed successful programs, and ensured efficient operations.

Camala Hedenschau completed their Bachelor's of Science degree in Education from the University of Houston-Clear Lake from 2012 to 2014. Camala later pursued a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership from Sam Houston State University from 2016 to 2018, specializing in the field of Leadership.

In addition to their formal education, Camala Hedenschau has obtained several certifications.
