Helen Drummond

Helen Drummond serves as the President and CEO of Houston Audubon since December 2012, where responsibilities include achieving the organization's mission and financial goals while leading efforts to protect wildlife on the upper Texas coast. Prior to this role, Helen Drummond was the Galveston Bay Estuary Program Director at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from December 1999 to December 2012, focusing on conservation efforts for the Galveston Bay Ecosystem. Helen Drummond also held the position of Natural Resource Programs Coordinator at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from 1994 to 1999, overseeing grant and contract management. Earlier in the career, Helen Drummond worked as an Environmental Quality Specialist for the City of Houston from 1991 to 1994, providing environmental compliance support. Helen Drummond holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Environmental Science from Hampton University. Additionally, an internship at the Institute of Marine Sciences was completed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
