Carlos Villagrana is a seasoned educational professional with extensive experience in program development and leadership. Currently serving as a Program Officer at Houston Endowment since May 2020, Carlos previously held the position of Managing Director of the Teaching Excellence Program at YES Prep Public Schools, focusing on enhancing teacher effectiveness through coaching and professional development. Earlier roles include School Director/Superintendent at Amigos Por Vida-Friends for Life Charter School, where management of educational programs and budgets was a primary responsibility, and Education Specialist at the Education Service Center, Region 4, contributing to literacy improvement for English Language Learners. Carlos began their career as a Bilingual Teacher in Alief ISD. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Oklahoma State University and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Christian University.
