James Hart started their work experience in 1989 as a Geologist at Texaco. James then joined Hartax Investments, LLC in 1995 as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). In 1997, they worked at Forcenergy Inc. as the Chief Geophysicist - Mergers & Acquisitions until February 2000. In 2002, they became the President of Telluride Energy LLC. In 2003, they joined Houston Energy L.P. as the Chief Geoscientist - Deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

James Hart began their education at Louisiana State University in 1982, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. James completed their undergraduate studies in 1987.
