Monica Thakkar currently serves as the Director of Artistic Partnerships & Music Planning at the Houston Grand Opera, a position held since October 2022, and previously held the role of Associate Director of Artistic Planning. Prior experience includes serving as Managing Director of Artistic Operations and Director of Artistic and Music Administration at Opera San José from January 2020 to November 2022. Monica's extensive tenure at The Juilliard School spanned from August 2012 to January 2020, where roles included Director of Performance Activities and Associate Director, Performance Activities. Additional experience includes serving as Box Office Manager for Heartbeat Opera's annual drag shows and earlier as a Summer Camp Counselor at Trotter Family YMCA. Monica holds a Master’s degree from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Carnegie Mellon University.
