Janel A. Young

Janel A. Young, MPS CED, currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Houston Habitat for Humanity, Inc., a position held since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles such as Director at Witt O'Brien's (August 2021 - June 2023), Assistant Director (Executive) for the City of Houston (December 2020 - August 2021), and various positions at the Louisiana Housing Corporation, including Director of Policy & Strategic Initiatives, Senior Advisor, and Director of Disaster Recovery from January 2012 to December 2020. Earlier in the career, Janel A. Young held the role of Director of Housing and State Housing Manager at the Louisiana Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit (August 2008 - December 2012). Educational qualifications include a Master of Professional Studies in Community and Economic Development from Penn State University, Executive Education Certification in Leading in an Era of Complexity from the University of Notre Dame, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Jackson State University.
