Chris Valdez

Chris Valdez serves as the Director of Communications at Houston in Action, where efforts focus on fostering community leadership and enhancing civic participation in the Greater Houston area. In addition to this role, Chris is the Principal of Laredo Street, emphasizing a people-centered approach to service. As a Co-Founder of Matters of Public Interest, Chris employs human-centered design to develop initiatives that improve urban living. Previous experience includes serving as Communications Manager at United We Dream, overseeing communication strategies for the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the U.S. and multiple creative leadership roles in marketing and advertising firms, including Primer Grey and Vinyl Creative. Chris holds a BA in English with a minor in Creative Writing and Architecture from the University of Houston.
