Director, Family And Community Engagement at Houston ISD

Alaa (Ally) Abdulmajid has a diverse work experience. Alaa (Ally) started their career as an Elementary School Teacher at Iman Academy in 2009 and worked there until 2011. Alaa (Ally) then moved on to work as a Psychological Coach Trainer at Nabaa Organization from 2014 to 2016, where they built a division, trained caseworkers, and designed and taught life skills workshops. In 2016, they joined the University of Houston as a Program Coordinator until 2017. In 2017, they joined Houston ISD and held various roles including Specialist in the Wraparound Department, Specialist in Family and Community Engagement, and Senior Manager in Family and Community Engagement. Alaa (Ally) is currently working as the Director of Family and Community Engagement at Houston ISD.

Alaa (Ally) Abdulmajid obtained a Licentiate degree in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services at the University of St. Thomas (TX) from 2011 to 2013. Alaa (Ally)'seducation journey began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from the University of Houston, which they received in 2010.
