Peta Douglas Carvalho

Peta Douglas Carvalho has extensive experience in the education sector, currently serving as a School Principal at Houston ISD since August 2015. Prior roles within Houston ISD include Assistant Principal, Curriculum Specialist, Instructional Specialist, and Teacher Specialist. Peta began a career in education as a Bilingual Teacher at Houston ISD from August 2012 to June 2014 and also worked as a Corps Member with Teach For America during the same period. Additionally, experience includes serving as a Migrant Advocate and ESL Instructor at Albemarle County Public Schools from August 2011 to May 2012. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia, obtained between 2016 and 2018, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature and Latin American Studies from the same institution, earned from 2008 to 2012.
