Kimberly Akers

Kimberly Akers is a seasoned physical therapist specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine at Houston Methodist since June 2014. Prior to this role, Kimberly gained valuable experience as a student physical therapist intern at Memorial Hermann Health System, where the focus was on outpatient orthopedic care with an emphasis on manual therapy. Other clinical rotations included pediatric orthopedics at Central Texas Pediatric Orthopaedics, neurologic care at Quentin Mease Community Hospital, and acute care at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Furthermore, Kimberly contributed as a physical therapy technician at Dynamic Physical Therapy Services from 2009 to 2011. Kimberly holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University.
