Varun Kumar

Varun Kumar, MD FACP, is an accomplished medical professional currently serving as Vice President and Medical Director for Quality and Member Experience at SCAN since January 2023. With extensive experience at Houston Methodist since July 2017, Varun holds positions as Medical Director of Inpatient Services for Methodist ACO, Lead Hospitalist for Value Based Care, and Hospitalist Physician. Varun co-founded Roxie Health, a data-driven solution aimed at preventing falls among seniors, and participated in the TMC Biodesign fellowship focusing on digital health innovations. Varun has also served on the board and as Medical Director for Devoted Health's Texas Medical Group. Educational background includes an MD from Baylor College of Medicine, a BA from Rice University, and a Certificate in Innovation Execution from Stanford University.
