Diederick Smit

Diederick Smit currently serves as an Associate Lawyer specializing in Insolvency & Restructuring at Houthoff since September 2020, previously contributing to the Corporate and Commercial Litigation practice group. In addition, Diederick holds the role of Editor for Insolventie Updates at Boom juridisch since February 2021. Diederick's prior experience at Houthoff includes positions as a Studerend juridisch medewerker and Student-stagiair within Corporate & Commercial Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency from July 2018 to January 2020. Diederick has also worked as a Director at De Kleine Consultant, managing the Utrecht branch and overseeing the development of consultants, while providing strategic advice to socially impactful companies. Volunteer activities include involvement with the Mezzo Forte Piano Foundation and serving as an English Exam Supervisor with the British Council. Educational qualifications encompass a Master of Laws in Corporate Law from Utrecht University and a BA in Economics and Law from University College Utrecht, alongside a Bachelor of Laws in Dutch Law from Utrecht University.
