Marloes Brans has extensive work experience in the legal field, specializing in EU and Dutch environmental law, as well as spatial planning law. Marloes began their career as a lawyer at CMS Derks Star Busmann from 2004 to 2007. Marloes then joined Houthoff as a lawyer, eventually becoming a partner and head of Climate Risk and Sustainability. Marloes also held roles at Lex Mundi, serving as Chair of the Practice Group Environmental and Regional Vice Chair of the Practice Group Environmental EMEA. Marloes was a Board Member at the Vereniging voor Bouwrecht-advocaten and an Expert Member in the Reflectieraad environmental plan at the VNG. Marloes has also contributed their expertise as a speaker/lecturer at various events and served as a Deputy Judge at the District Court of Midden-Nederland, sector public law. Currently, they are a board member at the Nationale Opera & Ballet Fonds, supporting Dutch National Opera and Ballet productions. Additionally, they chaired the Objections Committee at Stadsdeel Amsterdam Zuid, providing advice on administrative decisions.

Marloes Brans began their education at Riverton High School in Wyoming, USA, where they completed their high school education as part of the Graduate Class of 95 in 1995. From 1991 to 1998, they attended Christelijk Lyceum Arnhem, Gymnasium, but the specific degree or field of study is unknown. Continuing their academic journey, they attended Radboud University from 1998 to 2003 and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a specialization in International and European Law. Marloes also participated in the Erasmus Program at Universität Bern in Switzerland from 2002 to 2003, focusing on Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät.
