David Cookson has over 20 years of experience in transportation and planning roles. Currently serving as Deputy Administrator for the Howard County Office of Transportation since November 2008, David Cookson is responsible for developing long and short-range transportation plans, managing projects, and overseeing transit, bicycle, and pedestrian planning. Prior to this, David Cookson worked as a Planning Technician at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, where responsibilities included plan review and intake. Additionally, David Cookson has a background as an Analyst at Economic and Technical Consultants, focusing on gas and electric rate analysis and economic assessments. David Cookson holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Politics from Curry College and education from the University of Maryland and the International School of Brussels.
