Leonardo Belluscio

Leonardo Belluscio serves as a Senior Scientific Officer at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where responsibilities include designing and establishing new scientific initiatives while maintaining existing research programs. Prior to this role, Belluscio was a Senior Investigator at the National Institutes of Health, leading a team focused on neural plasticity and its implications for neurodegenerative diseases. Earlier career experiences include positions as a Scientific Officer and Investigator at HHMI and NIH, respectively, as well as postdoctoral work at Duke University exploring the mammalian olfactory system. Belluscio holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Columbia University and a B.S. in Biology from Manhattan University.
