Nanci Bompey

Nanci Bompey is an accomplished science communications professional with extensive experience in media relations, public information, and content management. Currently serving as the Janelia Science Communications Manager at Howard Hughes Medical Institute since April 2022, Bompey leads communication efforts for Janelia Research Campus, achieving significant increases in news content and pageviews. Previously, Bompey held various positions at the American Geophysical Union, culminating in the role of Director of Media Relations, where a notable increase in media coverage was achieved. Additional experience includes managing editorial content for Inside Washington Publishers and reporting for the Asheville Citizen-Times, among other roles. Nanci Bompey holds a Master's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Colgate University.
