Philip Perlman

Senior Scientific Officer, Director Of Research Facilities at Howard Hughes Medical Institute

Philip Perlman has extensive work experience in the field of molecular biology and genetics. Philip began their career at The Ohio State University in 1971, where they held the position of Professor of Molecular Genetics until 1990. Philip then moved to UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they served as a Professor of Molecular Biology until 2004. Since 2004, they have been working at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where they hold the position of Senior Scientific Officer and Director of Research Facilities.

Philip Perlman obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University in 1966. Philip then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biochemistry at Indiana University Bloomington, completing their studies in 1971.
