Nistha Shrestha is an aspiring chemist currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Howard University, set to graduate in December 2024. As a DOW Scholars Undergraduate Research Fellow at Howard University since August 2021, Nistha has synthesized and characterized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for applications in sustainable chemistry and pharmaceuticals, and has effectively presented research at various conferences. Previous roles include work as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Purdue University focusing on arsenic removal techniques using MOF nanomaterials, an MIH Drug Discovery Intern at Eli Lilly and Company where novel purification methods were developed, and a Process Development Intern at Amgen conducting drug photostability studies. Additionally, as the 62nd HUSA Sustainability Liaison, Nistha organized sustainability initiatives and secured funding for environmental projects.
