David Purtee

David Purtee is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in system safety and systems engineering. Currently serving as a Principal Systems Engineer at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) since May 2017, David has also held the role of Senior System Safety Engineer at HRU Technical Resources since January 2013, where responsibilities include preparing Safety Assessment Reports and managing hazard tracking for the JLTV Program. Previously, David worked at General Dynamics Land Systems as a Department Manager for over two decades, overseeing a team of up to 32 engineers and focusing on reliability, maintainability, and system safety. David holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology with an emphasis on Ergonomics and Biomechanics from Western Michigan University, earned between 1975 and 1977.
