Mario Shamtani

Mario Shamtani currently serves as the Group CTO at HSBC, a position held since March 2025, where responsibilities include leading infrastructure, data, platforms, architecture, and strategy. Prior to this role, Mario held various prominent positions in technology, including Head of CIB Markets Technology at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from August 2018 to March 2025, and Global Head of Fixed Income and Currencies at Citibank from August 2010 to August 2018. Mario also has experience as Head of Fixed Income Exotics IT at Barclays Capital and Global Head of FX Options Technology at Lehman Brothers. Mario holds a BSc in Computation from The University of Manchester, earned from January 1988 to January 1991.
