Dr. Reyaz Sabet-Sharghi

Dr. Reyaz Sabet-Sharghi has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Dr. Reyaz currently holds the position of Vice President of Technology at HSI Group Inc. where they are responsible for overseeing the advanced NDE services provided by the company. Their role includes training and procedure oversight, collaboration with technology development firms, and maintaining client relationships.

Prior to their current position, Dr. Sabet-Sharghi worked at BP Exploration Alaska as the Pressure Systems Integrity Team Lead and Piping Inspection Authority. In this role, they were responsible for the planning and strategy aspects of BP's largest upstream inspection program. Dr. Reyaz also approved all Service Provider NDE procedures.

Dr. Sabet-Sharghi previously served as a Sr. NDT Technology Engineer at BP Exploration Alaska Inc. and Manager of Guided Wave Services at IESCO. Dr. Reyaz also gained valuable experience as the Executive Manager at Industrial Support Services, where they had overall responsibility for the operation of the company and focused on building advanced services across their client base.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Sabet-Sharghi worked as a Department Manager at Saudi Guardian International Float Glass Co. Ltd.

Overall, Dr. Reyaz Sabet-Sharghi has a strong background in technology development, inspection program planning, and client management, making him a well-rounded professional in the field.

Dr. Reyaz Sabet-Sharghi obtained a Ph.D. in Physics, specializing in Pipeline NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and Electromagnetics, from Queen's University in the years 1994 to 1998. Prior to that, they completed an M.Sc. in Physics, with a focus on Experimental Solid State Physics, at McGill University between 1991 and 1994. Their academic journey began at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics from 1986 to 1991.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Sabet-Sharghi holds various certifications. Dr. Reyaz obtained the CEng (Chartered Engineer) certificate from BINDT (British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing) in August 2017. Dr. Reyaz also received certifications in Guided Wave Testing Level 3 from Guided Ultrasonics Ltd (UK) in 2013, and in PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing) Level 3 - GWT from BINDT in January 2014.
