Daniele Turi

Daniele Turi has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Daniele began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Pisa in 1990. From 1991 to 1996, they worked as an Onderzoeker in Opleiding at Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica. Daniele then moved on to the University of Edinburgh, where they worked as a Researcher from 1996 to 2003. In 2003, they joined the University of Manchester as a Researcher until 2007. Following their academic positions, they founded LikeCube Ltd in 2006 and served as its Founder until 2011. Daniele then joined Time Out, where they held the roles of Director of Research and Personalisation from 2011 to 2013 and Technology Director, Delivery from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, they joined AnyJunk as the CTO until 2023. Currently, they are Chief Technology Officer at HSS Hire, starting from October 2023.

Daniele Turi holds a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) which was obtained in 1996. Prior to that, they obtained a Laurea degree in Informatics from Università di Pisa. Daniele also completed a Postdoc at The University of Edinburgh, focusing on the Semantics of Computer Languages. Additionally, they obtained certification in Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in 2012.
