Vena Patton has extensive experience in both professional and volunteer roles. Currently serving as a PRA Analyst II at Florida Blue since February 1998, Vena contributes to a company dedicated to community welfare. Vena is the President of NEFL Next Steps Inc, focusing on volunteering and collaborating with women to address global issues. As a Group Facilitator at Hubbard House, Inc. since January 1999, Vena leads a weekly support group for domestic violence survivors, a cause deeply personal to Vena as a survivor. Additionally, Vena held positions as Past President and Secretary at NEFCADA from January 2005 to October 2009, demonstrating commitment to substance abuse awareness and support. Vena holds two Associate of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Management from Florida State College at Jacksonville, earned between 2000 and 2004.

In 1976 Hubbard House opened its doors as the first domestic violence shelter for victims and their children in Florida. In the past 45 years, Hubbard House has evolved into a nationally recognized full-service, certified domestic violence center providing programs and services to more than 4,000 women, children, and men annually in Duval and Baker counties. While Hubbard House is most known for its emergency shelter, the agency also provides extensive adult and youth outreach services, school-based education, therapeutic child care, court advocacy and volunteer and community education opportunities.
