Michael Rojas

Michael Rojas has a diverse range of work experience in procurement, contracts, inventory control, logistics, planning, and project coordination. MICHAEL started their career at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería as a trainee in the maintenance department. MICHAEL then worked at Gallos Marmoleria S.A. as the Head of Logistics, where they managed input logistics and developed procedures for procurement and inventory management. MICHAEL later became a Maintenance Supervisor at the same company.

Afterwards, Rojas joined San Fernando as a Supervisor and Projects Coordinator, where they coordinated expansion projects, managed investments, and participated in logistic processes. MICHAEL then moved on to Minera Bateas, Fortuna Silver Mines, as a Planner and Logistic Control, responsible for the supply chain planning, alliances, and inventory control.

Currently, Rojas is working at Hudbay Minerals Inc. as a Procurement & Contracts Head, where their responsibilities include creating sustainable value through the acquisition and operation of long-term mining deposits. MICHAEL also supervises procurement processes and manages a team of six. Prior to this role, they served as a Procurement & Contracts Supervisor at Hudbay Minerals Inc., leading and executing procurement and contracting processes to maximize profits and ensure operational continuity. MICHAEL also supervised a team and was responsible for CSR data compilation in the supply chain.

Throughout their career, Rojas has demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation, contract administration, inventory optimization, and team management.

Michael Rojas has a diverse education history with a focus on business and management. In 1998, they started their undergraduate studies at the National University of Engineering, where they pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. MICHAEL successfully completed their studies in 2003, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

After working in the industry for a few years, Michael Rojas decided to further enhance their knowledge in business and management. In 2006, they enrolled in the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, where they completed a Diploma in Strategic Operations Management. Then, in 2008, they pursued a Diploma in Logistics Specialization at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.

Seeking international exposure and a deeper understanding of project management, Michael Rojas attended the Universidad ESAN in 2012. Here, they completed an International Diploma in Project Management.

In 2016, Michael Rojas took a significant step in their educational journey by pursuing an MBA in International Management at CENTRUM PUCP. MICHAEL successfully completed this program in 2018, earning an MBA degree in International Management.

Continuing their commitment to lifelong learning and staying up-to-date with emerging trends, Michael Rojas obtained a Certification in Business Analytics and Intelligence from CENTRUM PUCP in September 2023. This certification, titled the Programa de Especialización en Analítica e Inteligencia de Negocios, further expanded their knowledge in data analysis and its application in business decision-making.
