Taylor Thiessen

Taylor Thiessen has extensive geological and mining experience, currently serving as an Operations Coordinator at Hudbay Minerals Inc. since May 2016, with previous roles including Construction Shift Supervisor and Mine Geologist-In-Training. Responsibilities include managing underground channel sampling programs, geological and geotechnical duties on drill programs, and ensuring adherence to quality assurance and quality control procedures. Prior experience includes a contract geologist role at North Rim, working on a uranium exploration program for Cameco Corporation, and another contract position at Hudbay where Taylor focused on core logging and geological map production. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan, where involvement as a teaching assistant enhanced academic contributions.
