Blain Shortreed

Blain Shortreed has extensive experience in the restaurant industry, holding various leadership positions throughout their career. Blain worked at Pepsico Foodservice International as the Director of Operations for KFC Western Canada, where they achieved record sales and profit growth. Blain then joined Priszm as the VP of Operations, responsible for overseeing more than 300 restaurants across Canada. Blain later joined Cara Operations as the Director of Operations and Training and Yum! Restaurants International as the VP of Operations for KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell, managing over 1,400 locations and 150 franchise organizations. Blain also worked at Pizza Hut as the Managing Director in the Middle East, where they successfully grew the brand and increased profits. Blain then served as the President & COO and later as the CEO of Long John Silver's, LLC. Currently, Blain is working as a Consultant/Executive Coach at Shortreed Consulting and will soon become the Brand President at Huddle House in 2023.

Blain Shortreed holds a HBBA degree in Marketing and Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University, which was obtained from 1983 to 1987. Blain then pursued an MBA degree in Marketing from the Schulich School of Business at York University from 1990 to 1995. Additionally, they completed a degree in Certified Management Accountants from 1990 to 2014, which was later transitioned to a Chartered Professional Accountant designation in 2014. Finally, Blain retired their Chartered Professional Accountant designation from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) in 2021, where they studied from 2014 to 2021.
